Hiland Dairy
From simple beginnings back in 1938, Hiland Dairy has turned its original 50-cow herd into an eight-plant operation in Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska and Oklahoma. Hiland is headquartered where it was founded—in Springfield, Missouri—and now employs 1,400 people in a four-state area. Since 1979, Hiland Dairy has been a joint venture of Prairie Farms Dairy, Inc. and Dairy Farmers of America, Inc. Amazingly, Hiland’s herd has grown to 87,000 dairy cows.
