Apple Dumplings

Ingredients

Two-Crust Pastry
6 apples, pared and cored
3 tablespoons raisins
3 tablespoons chopped walnuts
2 cups brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 cup water

Preparation

Prepare Pastry. Roll dough to a 21 x 14 inch rectangle; cut in 6 squares. Position 1 apple in the center of each square; fill center of each apple with a mixture of raisins and walnuts. Bring opposite corners of dough up over each apple, pressing corners together. Place dumplings in an 11 x 7 x 2 inch baking dish. Bring brown sugar, cinnamon and water to a boil; cook 3 minutes. Pour syrup over dumplings; bake at 425 for 40 minutes, basting several times with syrup. Serve hot with Roberts Whipping Cream.
