Beef Teriyaki

Ingredients
2 1/2 pounds beef sirloin steak
1 cup soy sauce
1 cup water
1/4 cup sake or sherry
1/4 cup sugar
2 tablespoons freshly grated ginger root
1 clove garlic, crushed
Preparation
Cut sirloin steak into 6 portions. Grill steak; cut each portion into 1/2 inch squares. In a saucepan, combine remaining ingredients; bring to a boil. Ladle sauce over each portion of the grilled steak. Marinate steak in mixture for 6 hours. Reheat and serve hot in chafing dish, if desired
