Brussels Sprouts au Gratin

Cookbook

Ingredients

2 packages (10 ounces each) frozen brussels sprouts
1/2 cup grated sharp processed cheese spread
1/4 cup Roberts Butter
1/4 cup dry bread crumbs
1/3 cup chopped walnuts

Preparation

Prepare brussels sprouts according to package directions; drain. Place in a buttered 1 1/2 quart baking dish and sprinkle with grated cheese spread. Melt butter in small skillet; add bread crumbs and walnuts. Cook, stirring, until lightly browned; sprinkle over brussels sprouts. Bake at 400° for 10 minutes

Yield: 6 servings

Raw brussels sprouts, sometimes called "baby cabbages," are very high in vitamin C. Overcooking brussels sprouts will destroy their vitamin C content and detract from their flavor, so take care to cook brussels sprouts just until tender.
