Chocolate Marble Loaf Cake

Ingredients
1/2 cup Roberts Butter, softened
1 1/2 cups sugar
3 Roberts Eggs
3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 1/2 cups sifted cake flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
3/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup Roberts Milk
1 1/2 squares (1 ounce each) unsweetened chocolate, melted
Preparation
Cream butter thoroughly; gradually add sugar, beating until light and fluffy. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each addition; stir in vanilla extract. Combine cake flour, baking powder and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, beating just until smooth after each addition. Remove about one-third of batter and combine with melted chocolate until thoroughly blended. Spoon plain and chocolate batter alternately into a buttered and floured 9 x 5 x 3 inch loaf pan. Cut through batter with knife to produce a swirled effect. Bake at 350° for 60 to 65 minutes, or until a wooden pick inserted in center tests clean. Cool cake in pan for 15 minutes; remove from pan and cool completely. Frost, if desired.
Yield: 1-9 x 5 inch loaf cake
