Cinnamon Candy Salad

Ingredients

2/3 cup red cinnamon candies
2 1/4 cups boiling water
1 package (3 ounce) cherry-flavored gelatin
1 1/2 cups applesauce
1 package (3 ounce) lemon-flavored gelatin
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup diced celery
1/2 cup chopped nuts

Preparation

Combine red cinnamon candies, 1 cup boiling water and cherry-flavored gelatin; stir until candies and gelatin are dissolved. Stir in applesauce. Pour half of mixture into a 9 x 13 x 2 inch baking dish and chill until firm. Dissolve lemon-flavored gelatin in remaining boiling water; chill until slightly thickened. Blend together cream cheese and mayonnaise; add celery and nuts; mix with lemon-flavored gelatin. When partially thickened, pour slowly over the first layer; chill until firm. Pour the remaining cherry-flavored gelatin over top. Chill until firm.
