Cottage Pudding

Ingredients

1/4 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 Roberts Egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 3/4 cups sifted flour
2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup Roberts Milk

Preparation

Cream shortening well, gradually adding sugar; mix in egg and vanilla extract. Add dry ingredients and milk alternately to creamed mixture, beating well after each addition. Pour batter into a well-buttered and floured 8 x 8 x 2 inch baking pan. Bake at 350� for 30 to 45 minutes, or until a wooden pick inserted in center tests clean. Serve with Sauce Lemon Dessert .

Yield: 1-8 inch cake layer
