Ingredients
1 pound dates, diced 1 cup sugar
1 cup chopped walnuts
2 Roberts Eggs, beaten
2 tablespoons flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract nutmeg
Sweetened Whipped Cream
Preparation
Mix together dates, sugar and walnuts; stir in beaten egg, mixing well. Sift together flour, salt and baking powder; add with vanilla extract to date mixture. Pour mixture into a well-buttered 8 x 8 x 2 inch baking pan; sprinkle with nutmeg. Bake at 350° for 30 to 35 minutes. Cool; cut in squares and serve with generous dollops of Sweetened Whipped Cream.

Yield: 9 servings
To dice whole dates easily, cut with a sharp knife or kitchen shears, dipping utensil often in water.
