Ingredients
18 medium green peppers
3 cloves garlic, halved
6 tablespoons vegetable oil
4 cups sugar
1/2 cup canning salt
2 quarts (8 cups) white vinegar
2 quarts (8 cups) water
Preparation
Wash peppers and cut each into 6 or 7 pieces. Sterilize 6 quart jars and fill each jar with peppers. Add 1/2 clove garlic and 1 tablespoon vegetable oil to each jar. Bring sugar, salt, vinegar and water to a boil; immediately pour over peppers and seal jars.
