Oriental Peas

Ingredients

2 packages (6 ounces each) frozen pea pods (snow peas)
2 tablespoons Roberts Butter
2 tablespoons peanut oil
1 pound sliced fresh mushrooms
1 cup sliced water chestnuts
1/2 cup chicken consomme
1/2 teaspoon fennel seed
2 tablespoons sake or sherry
2 tablespoons rice flour or all-purpose flour

Preparation

Cook frozen peas in butter and oil just until separated; add sliced mushrooms and sliced water chestnuts. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes. Mix together consomme, fennel, sake or sherry and flour; pour over vegetables. Cook over high heat, stirring, until thickened. Delicious with beef, pork or poultry.

Yield: 4 to 6 servings
