Pecan Surprise Bars

Ingredients

1 package (18 ounce) yellow cake mix
1/2 cup Roberts Butter, melted
4 Roberts Eggs 1/2 cup brown sugar
1 1/2 cups dark corn syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup pecans, coarsely chopped

Preparation

Reserve 2/3 cup of dry cake mix and set aside. Place remaining cake mix in a large mixing bowl; add melted butter and 1 egg, mixing just until crumbly. Press mixture, evenly on sides and bottom of a well-buttered and floured 9 x 13 x 2 inch baking pan. Bake at 350° for 15 to 20 minutes. Meanwhile, mix together reserved cake mix and remaining ingredients; pour over partially baked crust and bake an additional 30 to 35 minutes, or until topping is set. Cool slightly and cut into l 1/2 x 3 inch bars.
