Ingredients
1 pound beef round steak
1 teaspoon salt
dash pepper
1/4 cup Roberts Margarine
1/4 cup finely diced onion
1 clove garlic, minced
4 green peppers, cut in 1 inch pieces
1 cup sliced celery
1 cup beef bouillon
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1/4 cup cold water
2 teaspoons soy sauce
2-3 cups hot cooked rice
Preparation
Cut steak diagonally into thin slices; cut each slice into 2 inch pieces; season with salt and pepper. Melt margarine in a skillet over medium heat; add meat and cook until browned, stirring frequently. Add onion, garlic, green pepper, celery and bouillon; simmer, covered, until vegetables are tender but still crisp, about 10 minutes. Add hot water, if necessary. Blend cornstarch, cold water and soy sauce together; add to meat mixture. Cook and stir until thickened, about 5 minutes. Serve over hot rice.
