Potato Doughnuts

Ingredients
1 1/2 cups sugar
2/3 cup Roberts Milk
2 Roberts Eggs, beaten
4 teaspoons baking powder
1 tablespoon Roberts Butter, softened
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1 cup mashed potatoes
5 cups flour
oil for frying
powdered sugar or cinnamon sugar, optional
Preparation
Combine sugar, milk, egg, baking powder, butter and nutmeg. Stir in mashed potatoes; add flour to make a soft dough. Roll dough to 1/3 inch thickness; cut dough with a floured 2 1/2 inch doughnut cutter. Heat oil to 365°; deep-fry a few doughnuts at a time until golden brown. Drain on absorbent paper. Dust with powdered sugar or cinnamon sugar, if desired.
Yield: 2 dozen
