Scotch Toffee Bars

Ingredients

1/3 cup Roberts Margarine, melted
2 cups quick-cooking rolled oats
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup light corn syrup
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup chocolate chips

Preparation

Combine margarine, rolled oats, brown sugar, corn syrup, salt and vanilla extract; mix thoroughly. Press mixture in a buttered and floured 11 x 7 x 2 inch baking pan. Bake at 425° for 10 to 12 minutes. Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips evenly over the top. When the chocolate melts, spread evenly with spatula. Cut into l 1/2 x 2 inch bars; cool.
