Shortcake

Ingredients
1 1/2 cups sifted flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons sugar
3 tablespoons shortening
1/4 cup Roberts Half and Half
1 Roberts Egg, beaten
Roberts Butter
Preparation
Sift together dry ingredients; add sugar and cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse meal. Combine half and half and beaten egg; add to flour mixture. Knead mixture slightly. Spread dough in a buttered 9 inch round baking pan. Bake at 400° for 12 to 15 minutes. Remove from pan to cooling rack; cool about 3 minutes; split into 2 layers. Spread cut side of layers with butter; serve with fresh fruit and mounds of Sweetened Whipped Cream.
