Spanish Bulgur

Ingredients

1 pound ground beef
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup chopped green pepper
3/4 cup uncooked bulgur
2 teaspoons salt
1 can (30 ounce) tomatoes
1 can (17 ounce) green beans, drained
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 1/2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce

Preparation

Sauté ground beef, onion, green pepper, bulgur and salt until meat is lightly browned. Add undrained tomatoes, beans, chili powder and Worcestershire sauce. Cover and simmer 20 to 25 minutes.

Yield: 4 servings

Notes:

Bulgur is whole wheat that has been cooked, dried, partially debranned and cracked into coarse fragments. It may be substituted for rice in many recipes.
