Sweet and Crunchy Chex Mix

Ingredients

18 cups of Rice Chex Cereal
2 cups brown sugar
2 sticks Roberts Butter
1/2 cup Karo Light Syrup
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 large brown grocery paper bag
 

Preparation

Pour cereal in the grocery bag (set aside).With the butter at room temp, add brown sugar and syrup, and put in large bowl. Microwave 9 minutes on high, stirring after 4 minutes. Mixture will be bubbly and hot. Once you remove mixture from microwave, add the baking soda and stir. Mixture will turn a light brown and be foamy. Pour over the cereal in bag and stir until well coated. Place bag in microwave for 6 minutes. After 3 minutes, remove and shake well. Return to microwave for additional 3 minutes and shake. Spread mixture onto wax paper until cool. Place in large plastic bowl.
