Sweet-Sour Sauce

Ingredients
1 can (20 ounce) pineapple chunks
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1/4 cup vinegar
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 medium green pepper, cut in thin strips
1/4 cup thinly sliced onion
1/4 cup thinly sliced pimento
Preparation
Drain pineapple; reserve syrup. Combine brown sugar and cornstarch; add reserved pineapple syrup, vinegar, soy sauce and salt. Cook and stir over medium heat until thickened and bubbly. Remove from heat; stir in pineapple, green pepper, onion and pimento. Cook over low heat 2 to 3 minutes longer, or until vegetables are warmed.
Yield: 2 1/2 cups
