Teriyaki Steak Strips

Ingredients

2 pounds flank steak
1 cup canned beef consomme
1/3 cup soy sauce
1 1/2 teaspoons seasoned salt
1/4 cup chopped green onions (tops included)
1 clove garlic, minced
3 tablespoons lime juice
2 tablespoons brown sugar or honey

Preparation

Have butcher remove membrane from the flank steak, but do not have the meat scored in a mechanical tenderizer. Cut flank steak in 1 inch wide strips, diagonally from top to bottom. Cut each narrow strip in 1 inch pieces. Prepare marinade of consomme, soy sauce, salt, green onion, garlic, lime juice and brown sugar or honey. Marinate in refrigerator overnight. Using a hinged portable broiler, grill very quickly (about 2 minutes on each side) while brushing with marinade. Turn only once.
