Walnut Crumb Apple Pie

Ingredients

3/4 cup sugar 1 1/2 tablespoons quick-cooking tapioca 1/8 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg 5-6 cups sliced peeled apples 1-9 inch unbaked crust

Topping

1/2 cup sugar 1/2 cup fine graham cracker crumbs 1/4 cup flour, sifted 1/2 cup chopped walnuts 1 teaspoon cinnamon 1/8 teaspoon salt 1/4 cup Roberts Butter, melted

Preparation

Combine sugar, tapioca, salt and spices; toss with sliced apples until well-coated. Place apple mixture in unbaked pie crust, spreading evenly. Bake at 425 for 30 minutes. Meanwhile, prepare Topping.

Topping

Combine first 6 ingredients, mixing together thoroughly; sprinkle over apple mixture, leaving a 2 inch area in center to permit steam to escape. Spoon melted butter evenly over crumb mixture. Bake an additional 20 minutes.
